Qingming Festival at Panshan | A variety of online and offline activities to share the beauty of springtime.

Author:

As the pear blossoms bloom in the gentle Qingming breeze,

Wanderers seek spring, half out of the city.

As dusk falls, the music and singing are put away,

Ten thousand willows belong to the orioles.

Qingming Festival

Qingming Festival is one of China’s traditional holidays, observed between April 4 and 6 each year. It is a time for offering sacrifices, honoring ancestors, and tending to graves.

During the Qingming Festival, spring returns to the land and all things awaken, making it an ideal time for hiking and enjoying the fresh greenery. For this reason, Qingming is also known as the “Treading‑Green Festival.” On this day, in addition to tending to graves and honoring ancestors, people engage in various springtime activities, such as flying kites, swinging, and climbing mountains. In the rejuvenating season of spring, ascending to a mountaintop and gazing down at the vibrant scene of life unfolding offers a unique and enchanting charm.

To welcome the arrival of spring, the Panshan Scenic Area has also organized a special Mountain‑Opening Festival, inviting visitors to savor the season’s beauty together.
