Panshan Martyrs’ Cemetery is a national base for patriotic education and also serves as a center for youth outreach and training. During the Anti-Japanese War, Jixian County was an important component of the Jin-Cha-Ji Anti-Japanese Base Area, with the Panshan region forming its core. In this area, 28 significant battles took place, including the large-scale armed uprising in eastern Hebei in 1938 and the ambush at Baicaowa; the scenic area preserves numerous relics of the anti-Japanese struggle. Every year during the Qingming Festival, revolutionary‑tradition education activities are held here.
