Panshan Scenic Area, as A renowned tourist destination in North China. One of them, and also A national scenic area and one of the first batch of China’s 5A‑level tourist attractions, it is renowned at home and abroad as “the First Mountain of Eastern Jing.” Throughout the ages, emperors, generals, scholars, and literati have all flocked here, leaving behind numerous relics, anecdotes, and legends that have given rise to a wealth of cultural landscapes. Every year… It attracts tens of thousands of visitors eager to explore its stunning natural scenery and rich cultural heritage.

The Qianlong Emperor of the Qing dynasty was deeply fond of Panshan. Beginning in the fourth year of his reign (1739), he made 32 ascents to the mountain over the course of 28 years, composing 1,702 poems and famously remarking, “Had I known of Panshan earlier, why would I have needed to journey south?”

Panshan boasts breathtaking scenery and a profound cultural heritage, renowned for its motto, “Every step reveals a vista, every vista is steeped in history.” It is a premier destination for tourism and leisure, where natural landscapes and historic sites coexist, and Buddhist and imperial cultures seamlessly intertwine. The scenic beauty of Panshan is renowned for its “Three‑Plate Splendor” and the “Five Peaks and Eight Rocks.” The “Three‑Plate Splendor” refers to the upper plateau, where pine trees thrive in twisting, sky‑shrouding forms; the middle plateau, with its myriad strange and marvelous rock formations; and the lower plateau, where streams flow ceaselessly. As for the Five Peaks, they are centered on the main peak, Guayue Peak (864.4 meters above sea level), flanked by Zigaifeng to the front, Lailaifeng to the rear, Jiuhuafeng to the east, and Wujianfeng to the west—five peaks clustered together, their mountain ridges vying in splendor.
