Strolling through the Panshan Scenic Area,

Escape the city’s hustle and bustle and gaze upon fields of peach blossoms.

The Origin of “Dragon Raises Its Head”

On the second day of the second lunar month, known as “Dragon Raises Its Head” or the Qinglong Festival, tradition holds that this is the day when the dragon awakens. It is a time-honored rural festival in China, also called the “Dragon‑Head Raising Festival.” As the saying goes, “On the second day of the second month, the dragon lifts its head; every household and farm puts the oxen to work.” At this time, yang energy rises, the earth thaws, and trees begin to stir from their winter slumber, while the gentle breath of spring gradually fills the air. The coming month is the perfect season for spring outings and countryside strolls. Drive up to Panshan, wander through the hills and fields, where fresh greenery dots the landscape, flowers bloom, and birds sing—come and savor the beauty of spring!

The spring breeze brings warmth as the dragon raises its head.

PART.2

On the second day of the second lunar month, people climb high to pray for blessings.

“When the dragon awakens at the Awakening of Insects, it ascends to the heavens at the Spring Equinox.” This year, on the second day of the second lunar month.

It happened to be the seventh day of Jingzhe.

At this time of year, spring returns to the land, and all things awaken.

Climb high to gaze far, welcoming blessings and prosperity.

Pray for blessings on Panshan and feel the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.
