Jizhou District hosted The First Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Panshan Ice and Snow Culture Festival

On January 13, the inaugural Jing-Jin-Hebei Panshan Ice and Snow Culture Festival kicked off at the Panshan Scenic Area in Jizhou District, drawing hundreds of visitors from surrounding regions to embark on a winter adventure together.

As you enter the scenic area and ascend the steps, rows of fluttering national flags come into view, while bright red lanterns hang high from the branches, creating a charming contrast with the lush greenery. The traditional “Three‑Plate Evening Rain” attraction has donned an ice‑and‑snow–themed makeover, and a 16‑meter‑tall icefall gleams pristine… As white as jade, with snow-covered surroundings that make it feel like stepping into a fairy-tale world draped in silver.

Around 9 a.m., the entrance to Ruxing Mountain in the scenic area was bustling with visitors. Soon after, led by staff and accompanied by upbeat music, tourists joined in dancing together. Following the dance session, the organizers invited guests to explore and experience attractions within the Panshan Scenic Area, including its stunning ice waterfalls. “This is my first time visiting Panshan in winter,” said Mr. Zhang, who came with his family of three. “Unlike the usual picturesque mountain scenery, the vibrant festive atmosphere here truly caught our eye. Tomorrow, we plan to head to the surrounding areas for some skiing and strawberry picking, to savor the unique charm of Jizhou in winter.”

According to reports, this Pan Shan Ice and Snow Culture Festival represents an effort by the Pan Shan Scenic Area to enhance visitor experiences and move toward offering year-round attractions. During the Spring Festival, the scenic area will also host a series of festive events under the theme “Climb the Mountain to Pray for Blessings and Enjoy the Ice and Snow—Celebrate the New Year with Joy,” featuring cultural performances, a Qianlong‑era procession, lion dances, and other traditional festivities. In addition, interactive activities such as free tastings of local folk snacks will be offered to enhance visitors’ experience.

Tourists are flocking to check in and take photos.
