To thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions on natural disaster prevention and control, and to carry out the guiding principles of the Tianjin Municipal Leading Group for Geological Disaster Prevention and Control and the Leading Group for Ground Subsidence Control in 2024, the Panshan Scenic Area conducted an emergency drill on geological disaster prevention and evacuation for the 2024 flood season on May 24, with over 60 participants. The exercise aimed to further standardize emergency response procedures, effectively enhance flood‑control capabilities, and safeguard the safety of people’s lives and property as well as the scenic area’s resources.

Strengthen the safety barrier

The scenario for this drill is as follows: it simulates an emergency response triggered by an orange‑level or higher meteorological warning for geological hazards, or the discovery of an imminent geological hazard requiring urgent evacuation. Following the occurrence of such a hazard, the contingency plan is activated, response teams are assembled, emergency evacuation and sheltering are carried out, and on‑site emergency rescue operations are conducted.

Upon receiving information about the emergency, the Panshan Scenic Area immediately activated its emergency response plan and swiftly dispatched the traffic‑management team, the on‑site rescue team, the disaster‑relief team, and the logistics‑support team to the scene, promptly commencing rescue and relief operations.

Through this organized emergency evacuation and rescue drill, the Panshan Scenic Area has enhanced its emergency response capabilities, further strengthened its emergency rescue team, and made more thorough preparations for emergency preparedness and prevention of geological hazards during the flood season.
