The Traditional Twenty-Four Solar Terms

The Beginning of Autumn is the fifteenth of the Twenty-Four Solar Terms.

The usual time is around August 23rd.

The Earth reaches a heliocentric longitude of 150 degrees.

In the term “Chushu,” the character “chu” means “to cease” or “to stop.”

Chushu marks the end of the summer heat.

Some people interpret “Chushu” as “leaving the heat,” signifying the end of the summer heat.
