Panshan Scenic Area, as one of the first batch designated by the state… A 5A‑level scenic area, it boasts unparalleled natural and cultural landscapes. Here, pristine mountains and waters harmoniously blend with renowned historical sites, while the region’s rich historical and cultural heritage runs deep—its origins trace back to the Han dynasty, its architectural marvels were built during the Tang, and its splendor reached its zenith in the Qing era. The Qianlong Emperor of the Qing dynasty made no fewer than 32 imperial tours to Panshan, leaving behind 1,702 poems and expressing his heartfelt admiration: “Had I known of Panshan earlier, why would I have needed to journey south of the Yangtze?”
The Limutai Scenic Area is equally captivating, located in Xiaying Town, Jizhou District, Tianjin. It is both a National Geopark and a National Forest Park. Within the area, towering peak forests and dramatic canyons offer awe‑inspiring grandeur; lush woodlands exude serene beauty; cascading pools, waterfalls, and streams flow endlessly; and vines twine and entwine, earning it the reputation among scholars and experts as “Tianjin’s Shennongjia.” The region boasts unique geological features, including striking quartzite peak forest landforms, providing an unparalleled setting for geoscience education. Its abundant vegetation encompasses numerous rare plant species, making it a natural treasure trove for students to explore plant ecology and deepen their understanding of natural sciences. Moreover, the scenic area preserves a wealth of time‑honored folk traditions and legendary tales, offering students valuable opportunities to engage with and carry forward China’s cultural heritage.
