With the spring breeze gentle and the scenery bright, all things flourish. On April 19, a unique cultural‑tourism extravaganza kicked off at Beihai Park in Beijing. As a flagship attraction of the “Mountains and Waters of Jizhou—Garden of Beijing and Tianjin” cultural‑tourism brand, Tianjin Panshan Scenic Area joined forces with Jizhou’s rich cultural and tourism resources to make a stunning debut in the capital, extending a warm springtime invitation to Beijing’s residents.

Comrade He Yinan, Secretary of the Jizhou District Party Committee; Comrade Zhang Jianyu, Deputy Secretary of the Jizhou District Party Committee and District Mayor; Comrade Qin Chuan, Chairman of the Jizhou District CPPCC; and other leading officials attended the event.

Speech by Comrade Huo Jianjun, President of the China Tourism Scenic Areas Association

Comrade Zhang Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Beijing Municipal Park Management Center, delivered a speech.

This event is jointly hosted by the People’s Government of Jizhou District and the Beijing Municipal Park Management Center, and organized by the Publicity Department of the Jizhou District CPC Committee, the Jizhou District Culture and Tourism Bureau, Yuyang Ecological Construction and Development Co., Ltd., Beihai Park, Temple of Heaven Park, and Yuyuantan Park. The initiative aims to thoroughly implement the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Coordinated Development Strategy and foster deep integration between the cultural and tourism sectors of the two regions. As a national 5A‑level scenic area and the “golden brand” of Jizhou’s cultural and tourism offerings, Panshan Scenic Area drew particular attention at the promotional event with its distinctive landscapes—“Three Pans in Evening Rain” and “Five Peaks and Eight Stones.” At the event, the Jizhou District Government and the Beijing Municipal Park Management Center signed a cooperation agreement to launch additional direct cultural‑tourism shuttle services between Beijing and Tianjin, enabling Beijing residents to conveniently explore the breathtaking beauty of Panshan.

“Bring” the picturesque landscapes of Panshan into Beihai.

At the main venue in Beihai Park, more than 60 photographic works capturing the scenic beauty of Panshan have been arranged into a “mobile gallery,” showcasing spring’s vibrant wildflowers, summer’s cascading waterfalls and flowing streams, and autumn’s forests ablaze with color—drawing visitors to stop and take photos. A diverse array of cultural performances has further allowed Beijing residents to experience the unique charm of Jizhou’s culture. In addition, green agricultural products from the foothills of Panshan—such as Panshan millstone persimmons and Panshan walnuts—are on display at the exhibition and sales area, where visitors can savor the flavors of Jizhou right on the spot.

At the promotional event, Comrade Zhu Jingqi, Deputy District Mayor of Jizhou District, signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the Jizhou District Government with the Beijing Municipal Park Management Center. Going forward, the two parties will jointly develop the “Beijing–Jizhou Integrated” tourism route and foster in-depth collaboration between Panshan Mountain and Beijing’s parks in areas such as mutual visitor exchange, joint brand promotion, and resource sharing.

In addition, the Jizhou Culture and Tourism Bureau has signed agreements with the Health-and-Wellness Branch of the China Travel Agencies Association and several Beijing-based cultural‑tourism enterprises. As a result, Pan Shan Scenic Area’s signature offerings—such as “summer‑escape wellness” and “cultural study tours”—will be rapidly promoted in the Beijing tourism market.

Yuyang Ecological Company has reimagined the performance, seamlessly weaving Pan Mountain’s millennia‑old history and its ever‑changing seasonal splendor into the show. It vividly captures the grandeur of “the First Mountain of Jingdong, the ethereal sea of clouds and ancient pines, and the Nine Bends and Eighteen Switchbacks.” A witty and humorous narration then gently unfolds the springtime beauty of Pan Mountain’s Guayue Peak and the autumnal charm of Tiancheng Temple.

This spring, why not escape the urban hustle and bustle to Pan Shan—listen to the pine waves, gaze at the sea of clouds, and savor the Zen spirit? The “Hinterland of Beijing and Tianjin,” just an hour away, awaits your exploration in its most enchanting splendor!
