[After White Dew comes the Mid-Autumn Festival]
On Mount Panshan, the white dew moon glows faintly; on Mid-Autumn, the cool air brings crisp, serene scenery.
White Dew warms the autumn hues; at Mid-Autumn, the moon hangs bright.
“The reeds are lush and green, and white dew has turned to frost.” “The one I long for lies on the other side of the water.” From ancient times to the present, this line from the Book of Songs has become a breathtaking verse, cherished by all as they celebrate the changing seasons and their love. The sweltering heat has departed, and the essence of autumn grows ever richer.
Beneath the boundless autumn splendor, the sentiments of scholars and poets find their home in the naturally painted tapestry of forests ablaze with color, and in the dew‑laden mist of morning, the moon’s glow, and the pine‑scented breeze—transforming into smoke, turning into rain, they linger atop the mountain’s summit, reluctant to part.
The reeds are lush and green, and white dew has turned to frost,
The one I long for lies on the far side of the water.
White Dew
After the White Dew solar term, the lingering summer heat of Panshan gradually fades; the yin energy of heaven and earth rises and spreads, and the weather grows steadily cooler. By morning, the dew thickens, condensing on the grass blades into a delicate layer of white droplets. Yet by noon, temperatures climb once more, and clouds and mist begin to enshroud the summit of Guayue Peak, creating an otherworldly, fairy‑like scene.
The Mid-Autumn Festival on the Mountain After White Dew
“On the fifteenth day of the eighth month, the wild geese fly over Yanmen Pass, bearing frost upon their heads.” After White Dew comes the Mid-Autumn Festival. During this season, one admires the moon, ponders home, and savors fine tea. The scenery of Panshan at this time is neither quite summer nor fully autumn—more a liminal blend of the two. Here, you’ll find the Zen‑like murmur of springing streams from summer, alongside the golden bounty of autumn’s ripe fruits. Far from the city’s towering skyscrapers, stepping into Panshan to sip tea and gaze at the bright moon—it truly is a most beautiful experience!
May we all live long, though miles apart, sharing the beauty of the moon.
On the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, when the moon is full and families reunite, gather with your loved ones and friends to experience the grand, immersive outdoor performance “Mount Panshan Under Heaven.” On this special Mid-Autumn occasion, witness a timeless imperial romance that spans centuries and immerse yourself in the profound history and culture of Mount Panshan.
